Choose your console series

Compatibility matters: these are two different port options, not a universal socket. Read the CECH model label on your console and have your technician confirm the motherboard connector footprint. Model-family names alone do not establish a fit for every board revision. Compatibility with PS3 Fat models or other unlisted revisions is not established.

3K and 4K are model-series shorthand. They do not mean this part upgrades a PS3 to 4K output or adds new display features.

Typical repair uses

• Damaged connector: replace a crushed socket, broken internal tongue or bent contacts after the HDMI cable has been pulled or knocked.

Check the fault before replacing the port

A TV showing “No Signal” does not by itself prove the socket is faulty. First check a known-working HDMI cable, the selected TV input, another display and the PS3 video-output settings. Motherboard circuitry or damaged tracks can also require repair. This socket alone cannot resolve every display fault.

Installation and package contents

This is a motherboard soldering component. Installation involves console disassembly, removal of the original connector, careful soldering and inspection of the signal contacts and mounting joints. Use an experienced console-repair technician with suitable microsoldering equipment; it is not an external plug-in adapter.
